Previous data

The Teghout copper-molybdenum deposit was discovered in 1972. Geological exploratory work was conducted without interruption over 20 years, completing all stages of necessary studies, i.e. prospecting, preliminary and detailed exploration.

In 1990, Armniiprotsvetment Institute (Armenian Scientific Research Institute on Non-Ferrous Metallurgy Industry, former name for the Mining and Metallurgy Institute) compiled the technical and economic documentation, based on which the State Reserve Committee of the USSR had approved the conditions for reserve calculation. The State Reserve Committee subsequently approved the mineral reserves of Teghout copper-molybdenum deposit in 1991 (protocol № 11074, dated June 19, 1991). This reserve estimate was based on drilling results from over 45 thousand meters drilled in 143 holes, to produce some 10,000 samples assayed.

Based on the results of geological explorations, the Teghout ore body is a large stockwork, the main minerals being chalcopyrite and molybdenite, as well as chalcosine in the secondary sulphide enrichment zone. Of commercial interest are copper and molybdenum reserves, while gold, silver and rhenium would be by-products.

The results of the geological explorations are summarized in the Report on results of detailed exploration of Teghout copper-molybdenum deposit of the Republic of Armenia during 1983-1990 with the reserve calculation as at January 1, 1991 (Exploration Report). The Exploration Report is composed of 19 books, summarizing the materials of work conducted over more than 20 years.

Books 1 and 2 contain the main text of the report, 3, 18 and 19 include text appendices. Table appendices are in books 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, while graphical appendices are contained in books 10-17. Book 9 covers reserve calculation for oxide zone and mixed rocks.

Results of metallurgical testwork conducted in various years are reflected in separate reports.

Below you would find part of the reports that are available for download. Meanwhile, all of the original reports are available for inspection as well.
