Teghout mining project's Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) was conducted in 2005 and draft EIA was submitted to RA Ministry of Nature Protection for analysis. In compliance with legal requirements, a public discussion of the EIA draft was held in Alaverdi on March 23, 2006. On April 3, 2006 Ministry of Nature Protection of RA issued its positive conclusion №BP-31 of the EIA draft.

Another document submitted for Ministry of Nature Protection consideration was the working draft of Teghout mining project. Same draft was submitted to the Ministry of Trade and Economic Development (now renamed Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources) for technical and technological review, and to "National Center for Technical Safety" for technical safety study.

On October 12, 2006 in accordance with statutory procedure public hearings and presentations of EIA and Working Draft were held in Teghout village. RA Ministry of Nature Protection issued positive conclusion №BP-135 for Working Draft on November 7, 2006.

On November 21, 2006 Ministry of Territorial Administration and Emergency Situations of RA also issued №292 positive expertise conclusion for the Working Draft.

Ministry of Trade and Economic Development (now renamed Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources) issued №TTP-114 positive conclusion for the Working Draft on November 28, 2006.

Working Draft was submitted to a number of authoritative international organizations for the Review of compliance with IFC standards.
