Prior to the actual implementation (construction and subsequent operations) of Teghout project, the Company made all the necessary provisions and required actions stipulated by RA legislation.

In 2005, mining project environmental impact assessment was carried out and the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Draft was compiled. The Draft was submitted to the expertise of the Ministry of Nature Protection of the Republic of Armenia.

On March 23, 2006, public hearings on EIA draft were held in compliance with "Environmental impact assessment" procedure set out by RA law. On April 3, 2006, considering the constructive results of public hearings, the Ministry of Nature Protection of the Republic of Armenia issued positive expertise conclusion №BP31 on the EIA draft.

To ensure compliance with both RA Legislation and IFC performance standards, we launched joint programs with UK based environmental consulting company WSP in 2012. Within the framework of this cooperation, WSP developed guidelines on Social and health baseline survey. According to the survey, a dedicated organization was selected on a competitive basis, which conducted the Social-health baseline study. Based on the results of the study, the Social and Health Impact Assessment was made.

For the general public and a much wider range of stakeholders, there is also a generally accessible NTS (non-technical summary) of Social-health impact assessment.
